Meet Hart Lions
Lion President Marilyn Robson
I joined Hart Lions in 1997 when my daughters left home for college and university and I found a very large hole that needed filling.
For many years I had been on the parents associations at my daughter's schools and really enjoyed getting involved with raising money and organising events.
Lions seemed to be a natural progression and I couldn't have made a better choice.
People have many different reasons for joining an organisation like Lions and I am no different.
I get enjoyment out of helping others in my own community or through the Lions projects internationally.
I enjoy belonging to a group people who come from all walks of life but have one aim - to help others.
This is my second time of being President of Hart Lions and I am really looking forward to a packed year of fundraising, community projects, and social events.
Lion Helen Bellamy (Secretary)
I have been a member of Hart Lions for just over a year. I was introduced to Hart Lions by a friend.
Having worked clinically for the NHS for 40 years, when I retired I very much wanted to support the community on a voluntary basis.
I am married to Graham, have two sons and two grandchildren, Rory who is 1 year old and Iris who is 6 months old.
It is important to me that vulnerable, under-privileged members of the local and world-wide population are given as much opportunity
as possible to improve their quality of life through the fundraising efforts of Clubs such as Hart Lions.
Lion Christine Munday (Immediate Past President)
I have been a Lion for five years. I have found everyone, both in my club and the larger family of Lions warm, friendly and inviting.
There are plenty of opportunities to serve our community whilst having fun, and I have found the more I have become involved,
The more I get out of it. I was very proud to serve as Club President last year, and I am looking forward to being Fund Raising Chair
this year and hope we raise the money to support our charities worldwide. Lions will certainly give you a great chance to do ‘hands on'
projects whilst having fun and making friends.
